Toadies of Islam
Dean Esmay steps forward to associate himself with fellow blogger Aziz Poonawalla. He’s done so before. Dean has a blind spot a mile wide when it comes to the dangers of Islam.
I’m not going to argue scripture. My faith says that Jesus is the way to salvation. Period. That makes Islam, Judaism, Wicca and Scientology wrong. I haven’t gone out and killed anyone over it.
That’s the issue. Does Islam, as it is practised throughout the world, advocate violence in the name of religion? Without question, the answer is yes.
There may be a billion peaceful Moslems. I agree with Dean. But there are very, very few peaceful Moslem governments. By that I mean governments that are not busily oppressing or exterminating those citizens that do not agree with its version of Islamic rule.
Dean, I have news for you. Moslems cannot get past being Shia or Sunni in some parts of the world. Heaven forbid you are one of the little sects, Sufi, Druze, Bahai or Qadiani. If Islam is such a wonderful religion, tell me where the Jews of Baghdad are, or the Christians of Palestine?
In my mild fisking of Aziz I stated that the practice of Islam is at question, not the beliefs. I’m not going to argue verses or translations. I’m going to argue behavior and actions. No other religion has been so involved with murder and mayhem in the last one hundred years. Christians, Jews, Hindus and animists have died for the sole sin of not being Moslem.
By most accounts, at one time the level of education and civilization under Islam was comparable or greater than that of Western Europe. The failings of Islam as a religion, and as a culture, cost its believers any advantage they once had. Lack of a unified central religious authority. Lack of scripture in the vernacular. Distain for public education. A congenital unwillingness to accept free will as a concept. Again, not necessarily the religion, but its practices.
Dean bases part of his defense of Islam on the ten year military career of the child molestor, Mohammed. He forgets the other 1,400 years of experience the planet has had with Islam. If he wants to compare the child molestor and Moses, OK. The followers of Moses are not now cleansing the Holy Land of non-believers as their scripture tells them they should.
The Holy Land was Christian when it was taken by the sword by Islam. So was Turkey, and Spain and Egypt. There are very few nations in Asia, Africa or Europe that have not felt the sword of Islam. The Martyrs of Christianity fell peacefully spreading their beliefs. The Martyrs of Islam fell in battle.
Dean, if you want to submit, fine, do so. I will not submit. I do not want to live in a Moslem world. I want to have free will, be able to read and write what I want, to enjoy all that America has given me and that God has given us all. I will never dive a plane into a building. I will never drive an SUV into a crowd. I won’t snipe at strangers in the name of holy war.
But I will not submit!
