Via Mark Tapscott. Here’s a novel idea. Ask our employees, Congress, to account for their time.
The current Congress — the 109th — is set to spend the least amount of time in Washington of any Congress since 1948.
The House of Representatives is projected to meet for only 99 days this session, nine days less than the Congress of 1947-48. The Senate is projected to meet for 129 days, tying the sixth fewest days a Senate session has met since 1948.
I’ve ranted for some time about the lack of effort our Senators and Congress people are putting in at the job we pay them to do. The biggest offenders run for President on our dime. It’s a good thing to ask our Congress critters to account for their time on our dime!

Thanks for posting about this! We need all the help getting out the word and finding people who might want to start calling their politicians about this — and I like your line, “account for their time on our dime!”
