Africa Partnership Station Comes to E Africa
Africa Partnership Station is the US Navy’s program to maintain a low-footprint presence in Africa in support of the Africa Command mission and the Navy’s goal of building maritime partnerships. The USS Bradley (FFG 49) recently participated in APS with visits to the east coast of Africa. The East African mission represented the first APS mission in the region. Navy Continues to Eye Pirates
HOYBYO, Somalia (Sept. 30, 2008) Pirates holding the merchant vessel MV Faina receive supplies Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 while under observation by a U.S. Navy ship. The Belize-flagged cargo ship is owned and operated by Kaalybe Shipping, Ukraine and is carrying a cargo of Ukrainian T-72 tanks and related equipment.
