The media has quoted spokesmen for the CDC several times as suggesting that the outbreak of swine flu or novel H1N1 is in decline in the United States. I have taken the CDC’s reports from May 12 to date and graphed the numbers of new cases reported each time. The average increase for the 26 days is 708 cases per day. The trend line shows very clearly that the outbreak is not waning.
