California reports 1 more than the CDC. New Jersey is reporting 5 probable cases. Neither Florida or North Carolina currently have any swine flu cases reported on their website. The New York City site continues to have only the cases from St. Francis. Counties: Imperial 5; Sacramento 1; San Diego County 5 Follow these flu prevention tips: Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective. Try to avoid close contact with sick people. If you get sick with flu, it is recommended that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them. Swine Flu Update – 04-26-2009
The CDC is reporting 20 confirmed cases of swine flu in the United States. California: 7 cases. Texas: 2 cases. A third case has been featured in the media, under “quarantine”, but his case is NOT part of the official CDC count. New York: 8 cases. The CDC has confirmed the initial findings of the NYC Health Department that 8 of the 9 students that were swabbed, from the St. Francis Preparatory School in Queens, were positive for swine flu. Peers interviewed on Fox said that some students at the school took their Spring Break in Mexico. Kansas: 2 cases, in the same household. Male visited Mexico recently. Ohio: 1 case.
