This story is from 2008. Marielle is now in college and doing very well.

Marielle Carroccio is a beautiful fifteen year old girl with kidney disease. At this stage in her illness, her choices are limited to a transplant or dialysis. Mom and Dad have been fighting for her with the various organ procurement facilities, discovering that they do not all operate by the same rules.

She needs a donor badly. Because of an earlier liver transplant, the pool of potential donors is limited. Her current hospital will consider a donation from a matching stranger, so please give it some thought.
