Bortnick The Rochester Fire Department and police were called to a home on the city’s northwest side and neighbors complained of a foul odor. Rochester police were called to a duplex on Jones Avenue to check on the person living there, who had not been seen in a few days. What they found were some of the worst living conditions they had ever seen. “It was so bad that we couldn’t go in without protective gear,” said Capt. Thomas D’Angelo, Rochester Police Department.
