Lt.j.g. Katie E. Burkhart, a native of Dell Rapids, S.D., is assigned to USS Philippine Sea homported in Mayport, Fla. The ship, which recently completed an extensive overhaul of the combat and engineering control systems, docked for Fleet Week New York before continuing to make preparation for an upcoming Arabian Gulf deployment to defend against those who would threaten our nation’s interests.
