Colorado Springs, Colo.-The Nebraska rifle team finished its fall campaign with a first-place finish at the Air Force Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 30. The Huskers shot a season-high score of 4,661, defeating both Texas Christian University (4,616) and Air Force (4,546). The Huskers dominated in both smallbore (2,326) and air rifle (2,346) in the one-day competition held at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

“This [4,661] is the highest we have shot so far this year,” Nebraska Coach Launi Meili said. “I am happy we did so well. We are going to practice hard to maintain and improve on that level of competition.”

Senior Stacy Underwood placed first in the air rifle competition, shooting a career-best 594. She also placed second in smallbore with a score of 582.

Please note, bin Laden, et al, that our women can shoot straight.
