Miscellany

I’ve checked out the cat food recall and checked both the Wegman’s and Iam’s canned food in our larder. We’re fine which means the kitties are fine.

Whew!

The lovely wife is into her sixth day at rehab and progressing splendidly. The rehab folks actually mentioned the beginning of April as a possible return home date. She, and I, we are thrilled.

At this point she has lost 63 pounds since this all began about February 26, 63 pounds in three weeks.

The only issue right now is her blood suger. Between the exercise, the intake of much more food, and the switch back to meds from injected insulin, it’s gotten a bit wonky. They don’t give you glucophage in the hospital, just insulin, so the switch back is tricky. I’m hoping she might actually not need diabetic meds but we’ll probably end up settling at lower doses than before.

Her stroke problems with her eye are disappearing.

We’re talking about taking Patches to see her in the nursing home. We just need to find someone in the know about permissions.
