Medical Me

Last Monday I woke up with a boo-boo on my left forearm near the elbow, on the inside. It looked like an insect bite. Didn’t hurt or anything.

Later in the day it began to itch. Really itch. So I took some Benedryl. More Tuesday. No luck.

By Wednesday it was looking more like a patch than a bite. I tried Neosporin and bandaids. By Friday I had decided that my latex sensativity was making things far worse. I went to Polysporin and gauze. By Sunday morning it was nearly quarter sized and a clear example of a staph infection in the skin.

The fever dreams decided me. I went to Urgent Care in Penfield.

Where every toddler with a snotty nose was waiting to see the doctor and trying mightily to infect everyone else in the room. BABY GERMS!

Thirty seconds with the PA and I had a prescription for an antibiotic, pills. If it does not improve by Wednesday I’m to call Dr. Cutey. Leave the covering off and look like I have a rotting arm for the next few days.

I “think” I got nipped by a cat that night. Didn’t break the skin but caused a bruise. Which got infected, and super irritated by the latex.

On the other hand, maybe I have arm rot.
