Losses in Iraq This Month
January’s losses for our troops in Iraq will be higher than they have been in the last couple of months. The KIA numbers will be skewed by two attacks.
On Jan. 9 in Sinsil, Iraq, a house borne explosive device took the lives of six soldiers. They were lured to the spot and it was a deliberate attack.
In Ninewah Province on Jan. 28, five soldiers were killed by an IED which was followed by small arms fire from a mosque.
Because our KIA numbers are so low, these two incidents create quite a spike in the graphs. Not to panic, though some will.
