Lieberman vs. Lamont
I’m not at all thrilled with either candidate in the Democratic primary in Connecticut. My preference would be a world where the opposite party in an election would make a serious try. The Republicans are not, in the Nutmeg State. [Not in NY against Hillary, either, damn!]
So, who would I dislike least? Most conservatives are backing Joe Lieberman. There’s a lot to be said for that position. You know where he’s coming from. He supports much of the Administration’s foreign policy. He’s a know quantity.
Lamont is the rich leftist of song and story. So rich, he never has to worry about any of the screwings he’d give the little people. Yet, his “nutroots” followers and his wacky ways would make for excellent fodder in later elections.
I really don’t know who I want to win. I dislike Lieberman least. Lamont is that sort of rich person who delights in telling the poor folks what they need, without having to experience the same things. It’s easy to be a rich socialist.
I don’t have a vote today, but, for whatever it’s worth, I’m not endorsing Lamont.
