Fire broke out at Universal Studios in Los Angeles about 7:45 a.m. this morning, in the same area as a 1990 fire. That fire cost the studio about $50 million in damages.

Thirty-six tangled vehicles.
Twenty-five people injured, including one teenager who later died.

College Students Die In Fire

Two college students died and one was seriously hurt after a two-alarm house fire in Rochester early Friday morning.
Firefighters were called to Upton Park at 2:39 a.m. for the report of a porch fire. When firefighters arrived on scene there were heavy smoke and flames coming from the house.

Camp Pendleton Burning

A fire on Camp Pendleton threatens a building near the San Luis Rey gate Oct. 24. This is one of the four fires aboard Camp Pendleton covering 10,105 acres. Firefighters are suppresing the blazes with helicopter support and reverse fire operations which are controlled intentional burning to prevent the spread of the fires.
