I Think It’s the Waiting
The lovely wife’s exercising up a storm, working those stairs. Her brain, though, is a week or more ahead of her body, so she’s blue. From where we began, her current state is a miracle. But she is still far from her old self. I suspect that she’ll hate that her life is, of necessity, slower on a permanent basis. She has received some good wishes from the Lutheran homeland so she was cheered up by those.
Took Patches in to see her on Monday and took Merlin today. He hid under the bed most of the time. I nearly killed myself carrying this 18 or so pound kitty.
Strong Memorial sent us our bills. We only have to pay $100 for each of the in-hospital stays, while the total of the two comes to an astounding $39,740 plus. Thank God for insurance.
I talked with the SS disability lawyer today. They want 25% of any back money recovered but they’ll handle the whole thing from now on. With the current health problems on top of the eyes, she should qualify for Social Security Disability this time. We could use the moola.
We’re ordering the walker, commode thingy, shower chair so we’ll have them for her return home on the 29th. I want to put a shower in her bedroom, and buy her a reclining chair that assists you in getting out of it. If I were working, I’d be looking for a ranch style house to move to, just to make things easier for her.
I guess it’s good that I am not working so that I can care for her the first few days that she’s home. I’m being insistant that we will not have a repetition of the three days she was home between the hospital stays.

Chuck–Glad to hear that Linda is working hard at pt. Sounds like her mind is excellent. In regards to the “Lutheran Homeland” there are some of us out here that are Catholic!!!!!!!!!!! In fact, I, myself have also been a Methodist, and a Southern Babtist. I just take the path of least resistance. Just Joking!!! Good Luck to both of you. Richard Engst
