Christ. I guess I should stop asking questions — like “Who gained?” — about that sad day. Because if I don’t you guys’ll, what? Call me “stupid?” Classic. Feels like we’re all back on the playground in third grade. The day will probably come when I’m such a slug that I no longer care to understand the how’s, what’s, and why’s in life. Or — maybe “and” — the day will come when I just do as I’m told and accept whatever my “superiors” spout without question or consideration. When it does, kindly shoot me in the back of the head.

Every once in a while I have to “check my motives” and make sure that I’m not buying one tin-foil-hat or another because I’d like to see a turd like Cheney or Richard Perle go to FPMITA Prison. And, I’ll be honest: it would make my day and then some. On the flip side, do all of you firmly believe that there was nothing the least little bit on the suspicious side that day? Or are you defending folks who wouldn’t piss on most of us even if we were on fire? The day will come when I’m such a slug that I no longer care to understand the how’s, what’s, and why’s in life. I’m simply a long time old country Volunteer Fire Fighter but I have seen steel beam, steel covered, buildings (warehouses, with very little contents) burn. The only thing standing were the warped and bowed steel beams, large steel beams. The thin metal siding was in puddles on the concrete floor. If they had been block or concrete they would have been a pile of sand on the concrete floor. The buildings simply disappeared without the help of Jet Fuel. By the way I was at one time a B-52 bomber mechanic in the U.S. Air Force (22 years) and I’ve learned something on here, jet fuel is propane. Wow, and here I thought it was more of a highly refined kerosene. Additionally as a child I’ve spent many hours turning the crank on a fan for a forge used by my father. Guess what we were doing, melting and forming steel. Now I know we were doing the impossible.
If the educated get any more stupid we won’t have enough nut houses to lock them up. Add in the BDS crowd and the mental health workers are overloaded, what will they do now? Millions of democrats will require they’re help. Want to work a few hours per month and earm millions per year, get a mental health license ‘now’.

Well since they are bringing out Mr. “several hundred hours of training in Fire Science” then I guess I will chime in since I have several hundred hours of applied firefighting experience including crash-rescue.

For the idiot who said propane and jet fuel are the same thing, well frankly you are an idiot. Well lets start that the maximum burning temperature of JP8 (Jet Feul) is 980 degrees farenheit.

Then let remember that the planes that crashed into the towers had several hundred gallons left that poured into the elevator shafts and into multiple stories of the building.

And this one is for Mr Fire Science what is the average temperature of a area that flashes over? I will save you the time, it is usually between 1000 and 1500 degrees farenheit.

So with multiple floors hitting flashover temperature and steel expanding 3 millimeters per meter at 1000 degrees farenheit you would still deny the possibility that the building collapsed because of structural failure and not George Bush’s death star?

To answer the question about the vertical bridge columns still standing: it’s because they didn’t have the incredible mass sitting on top of them that the WTC bldgs had. Also, I suspect they were monolothic members, concrete poured around steel, whereas the WTC verticals were basically box beams stacked & welded. When the combined mass of the upper floors (not to mention the 20,000-gal water tanks in the upper service floors) came crashing down upon each floor in succession, it broke the welds & bolts holding the next floor and pulled the vertical members out of plumb, breaking their welds.

The biggest difference in the two phenomena was the height & mass, and it accounts for the difference quite well, I believe.

I have absolutely no professional qualifications, but, unlike the conspiracy zombies, I can use common sense and a search engine.

I have a question for yee-awl. Do these collapses not seem a little different from each other? The twin towers and building seven fell straight down, while the Pentagon and the now famous overpass collapsed with a more natural crookedness that you would expect. Also, please note that the support columns on the overpass are still standing. I am not a truth crusader, nor will I return here to see what others write in retaliation. I guess I must be stupid, maybe in your minds.

Hey people! You do not understand, the Truther Way is a way of faith, of glory, of misunderstood but finally triumphant ideals. It is a matter of faith, not science. I do not care how many scientists, physicists or other doctors you drag out to parade on the subject. I know GW is a baddd guy. I know that everything he has to do with is bad. I know that he got a poll boost after 9/11, standing with the firefighters; he took down the towers so he could look good. He went to war in Iraq to make his buddies money. We know these things. Do not try to confuse us with facts. GW bad, Pelosi good. Cheney bad, Harry Reid good. McCain bad, Murtha really, really good.

When confronted with the truthers and their “jet fuel can’t melt steel”, I tell them to answer the following questions:

1) How hot does jet fuel burn?

2) What elemental composition was the steel in the WTC towers?

3) What is the melting point of that particular alloy?

4) Why does the metal have to melt for the towers to collapse…couldn’t heat stress weaken the metal enough to cause it to buckle?

I’ve yet to encounter a truther, face to face or on a political discussion board, that can answer any of these questions. Once you demonstrate their ignorance in such a fashion, it casts more doubt on anything else they repeat from nutjob conspiracy websites.

You can also use a similar tactic to shut down arguments from evolutionists and enviro-nuts who simply repeat things that sound scientific.

All you have to do is weaken the bolts that hold the trusses to the verticle beams. That doesn’t take long at all nor does it take a temperature anywhere near the melting point of steel. There is a Martinsitic phase transformation several hundred degrees below the melting point. It is a displacive transformation, which means it will cause buckling of the beams and bolts. Once that happens, buh-bye skyscraper.

Steel does melt and weaken and at the temperatures both sides claim, but hundreds of thousand tons of it doesn’t weaken in 57 frigging minutes. It would of taken days with fires that small.
