Fighting in Afghanistan

UPDATE: Yes, this is far more snarky than it needs to be. Mr. Smith is a busy man, and has many more readers than I do. I do apologize for the snotty attitude. I will remind all my readers that for every liberal shot at the war, the truth is out there. My page on terrorist deaths is just one of many sources for bloggers and media types if they choose to present a balanced account of the war.

W. Thomas Smith Jr. writes the newest of the many, many blogs at National Review Online. It’s called The Tank.

Mr. Smith posts a comment about the fighting in Afghanistan, and as his final line posts:

Nevertheless, 12 NATO troops killed in Afghanistan this past week makes it one of the bloodiest weeks in that country in months.

I immediately wrote him, though I do not expect an answer, that he neglects to mention the 54 terrorists that were killed by our forces in the same time period. Terrorist Death Watch:

DATE LOCATION KILLED
AF
NOTES
4/7/2007 Kakaheyl, Bermel District 2
4/7/2007 Qalat, Zabul Province 5
4/8/2007 Sangin district, Helmand province 6
4/9/2007 Sangin District Center, Helmand Province 4
4/10/2007 Sangin district center in Helmand province 13
4/12/2007 northeast of Qalat on Highway 1, Zabul Province 24 Canadian / ANA op

I hate this when liberals do it. I especially hate it when conservatives who should know better do it. Never, ever, just talk about our losses. It’s a war and our enemies are dying, too.

Keep up the good work. Our military doesn’t do bodycounts and our media only follows and counts one, while ignoring the other.
