Epidemics: Marburg 4-19-05

The WHO has finally updated their updates, through 4/19. 31 new cases and 24 new deaths. 40% of the total cases are still projections, from before the virus was identified on March 21. You can see the WHO data, and my graphs, at my Marburg page. I’m not going to waste a lot of time on this since it’s not much of an epidemic and little threat to us.

The WHO took an entire week between cases and the new ones still only averaged about 4 a day. Since the virus was identified, new cases have averaged 5.7 a day, from March 21 through April 19. The outbreak remains confines almost exclusively to Uige Province, 93% of the total cases.
