Courage Games coming to Rochester
The Rochester area will host the first Courage Games over the Labor Day weekend. From August 31 through September 2, active duty military, veterans and civilians will join together to compete in a variety of sporting events. The event is intended to heighten awareness of our military’s sacrifices and their courage in persevering.
It is hoped that thousands of veterans, active duty military and civilians will participate in the three day event. Team sports such as softball, 3 on 3 basketball and 7 person flag football and individual sports such as bowling, golf and a fitness challenge are planned. Civilians will be allowed to compete in the fitness challenge and in the golf competition.
On August 30-31, medical symposia will be held at the Radisson Riverside in Rochester. The sessions will be focused on traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Experts in the care and treatment of patients with these conditions will discuss the latest news and treatments.
