Telegraph Now Dr Samuli Helle, University of Turku, has found the answer with the help of a study of the nomadic Sami, the “reindeer people” of Finland. Finnish parish records from the 17th to 19th century on three Sami populations, who depended on reindeer herding, fishing and hunting for their livelihood, make it possible for researchers to disentangle the effects of medical progress on the number and life span of Sami men who married only once. Dr. Rusty at My Pet Jawa says: I keep hearing people refer to disgraced homosexual Congressman Foley as a pedophile or a child molester. Are people really that stupid to believe that? Apparently, yes. Having sex (or wanting to have sex) with a teenagers is not child molestation nor is it pedophelia. Pedophelia is sex with children. Teenagers are not physically children. Having sex with a teenager is ‘statutory rape’. That is, by statute, we declare them incompetent to make their own decisions on sexual matters. Statutory rape is wrong because teenagers under 18 are not mature enough to rationally make those kinds of important life choices. It is wrong at the social level. Two posts by Rachel Lucas [old friend who just returned to posting] and Cassy Fiano at Wizbang on the subject of young women today. They both qualify as young women, so they have the chickenhawk advantage. I’m an older man, barred from most looking or touching, so all I have are opinions. And I agree with Rachel and Cassy. My lovely neices were raised in a stable, Catholic household, with a great mix of both freedom and responsibility. The eldest has a tattoo. Gulp! The young women that I see while working, or on the street during working hours, need the mentoring of an older career woman.
