A fire on Camp Pendleton threatens a building near the San Luis Rey gate Oct. 24. This is one of the four fires aboard Camp Pendleton covering 10,105 acres. Firefighters are suppresing the blazes with helicopter support and reverse fire operations which are controlled intentional burning to prevent the spread of the fires.
