Army unwatering experts sent to New York
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Rock Island District is deploying a team of engineers today to New York to support the Corps’ unwatering assistance to the state.
The Unwatering Team, specially trained for unwatering New Orleans in the aftermath of a hurricane, will provide engineering technical assistance to the Corps’ New York District for unwatering flooded transportation systems and other low-lying areas.
The Rock Island District is also preparing its large stock of unwatering pumps for possible deployment throughout the hurricane-impacted area and additional assistance will be provided as requested.
