America’s North Shore
The lovely wife and I felt well enough last Sunday to take an extended motor tour of one of the stars of America’s North Shore, the Finger Lakes Wine Country. We drove about 180 miles, circling Seneca Lake. It was a hazy day, with the southern part of the area just recovering from severe flooding. Still, I was able to capture an image or two.

The corn is indeed knee high by the Fourth of July. In fact, in most places it was at least waist high if not shoulder high. Still, it’s the vinyards that line the lake, such as those shown here. The west side of the lake seems to have far more wineries, and a meadery being built. All offer a tasting, and several have tours.

I love roaming the hills of Western New York. It is some of the prettiest country I’ve ever seen and dear to my heart as my native homeland. The Finger Lakes, nestled in their valleys, just accent the greens and golds of the region’s flora.

If home is where the heart is, my home will always be along America’s North Shore.

next time, go to Cayuga and Skaneateles lakes. I went to high school first at Skaneateles and then at Auburn. I miss upstate New York.
Thanks for posting pictures.
