A Little Piece of Military History
This is Colonel John E. Theimer, who assumed command of my father’s unit on December 12, 1944, just in time for the Battle of the Bulge. He later commanded the 25th Infantry Division and retired from the Office of Civil Affairs as a two star. Dad never knew this but I’m certain he would have busted a gut with pride.
