KABANI, Iraq (Oct. 27, 2007) – Chief Petty Officer Lissett Araiza looks over the children here waiting to be examined by Iraqi and U.S. military medical personnel during a cooperative medical engagement Oct. 27. During the operation, coalition forces diagnosed cases of viral syndromes, ear infections and bronchitis among other problems. Araiza is a religious program specialist with Headquarters Company, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward), and a Quartz Hill, Calif., native.

HABBANIYAH, Iraq (Dec. 8, 2007) — An Iraqi girl listens to her teacher while Marines and sailors of Military Transition Team 1-3-1 and the soldiers of 1st Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division watch the children learn at a school near Abu Hazim Dec. 8. MTT 1-3-1 is currently deployed within Iraq’s Al Anbar Province to help develop Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
