The Lovely Wife At Home

First of all, walkers are cool. The wife is tooling around the house with hers at about twice the speed she could move before this whole thing began. She got up this morning and had her breakfast made before I crawled out of bed. Did not make mine, though. She tires easily, good appetite. Sleeping far better than I am. She did her PT exercises yesterday. Cough is breaking up by very, very slowly. Social Security called about her appeal on her disability claim. Hearings in this area are running two years behind!! We’re going with a specialty attorney to handle the thing from now on. She has lost 73 pounds from February 26 until this morning. All water. That alone has to ease the strain on her heart. It will be a long road, but … Read entire article »

Ponderings on a Friday Night

After scheduling the last post for tomorrow, I started to wonder if this is becoming the site for unusual lesbian news. Nah. The wife is home and walking up a storm in her walker. Tooling along with it faster than she’s walked in months. She tires easily, but so do I. Paris Hilton violated her probation. Well, it was the last thing left she hadn’t violated. Pelosi is going to Syria. Keep her, please. The best response to the Brits being held by Iran was from Cnl. Hunt on Fox [I think]. The Iranians have a chronic gasoline shortage, and only one refinery that makes gas. Blockade and a refinery removal would send the Iranian economy into the dumpster. They may still need a little slapping around but they would no longer be a problem. OK, … Read entire article »

By Sgt. 1st Class Nicholas Conner, 15th SB, Public Affairs CAMP TAJI, Iraq – To the Soldiers of the 68th Combat Sustainment and Support Battalion, 15th Sustainment Brigade, Chaplain (Capt.) Leo Moras’ trademark smile usually precedes a handshake or an update to the care package pile outside his office. These are his Soldiers, he says. He trained and deployed with them; anything he can do for them, he will. Be it providing the contents of care packages sent by stateside supporters or just talking briefly with Soldiers, Moras energetically looks out for his “Stagecoach” troops. Service to others has been a constant for Moras, a Catholic priest from Bantwal, India. The oldest of six, few prospects were open to the son of a poor farmer after finishing high school.
