False But True

USA Today takes a mulligan. You see, their story was true except it’s false. But, they’re confident that if it were not false, it would be true. At least in part. USA Today On May 11, USA TODAY reported that the National Security Agency, with the cooperation of several of America’s leading telecommunications companies, had compiled a database of domestic phone call records in an effort to monitor terrorist activity. Several days later, BellSouth and Verizon specifically denied that they were among the companies that had contracted with the NSA to provide bulk calling records. The denial was unexpected. USA TODAY had spoken with BellSouth and Verizon for several weeks about the substance of the report. The day before the article was published, the reporter read the sections of the article concerning BellSouth and … Read entire article »

Munitions Found in Iraq Meet WMD Criteria

By Samantha L. Quigley, American Forces Press Service The 500 munitions discovered throughout Iraq since 2003 and discussed in a National Ground Intelligence Center report meet the criteria of weapons of mass destruction, the center’s commander said here today. “These are chemical weapons as defined under the Chemical Weapons Convention, and yes … they do constitute weapons of mass destruction,” Army Col. John Chu told the House Armed Services Committee. The Chemical Weapons Convention is an arms control agreement which outlaws the production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons. It was signed in 1993 and entered into force in 1997. The munitions found contain sarin and mustard gases, Army Lt. Gen. Michael D. Maples, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, said. Sarin attacks the neurological system and is potentially lethal. “Mustard is a blister agent … Read entire article »

Britney Spears, Nude

I had to write the headline like that. It’ll drive the search engines crazy. Britney has always been a little just this side of stocky. She never did really trim down after baby number 1. I’m sure the pics are great. With digital magic you can remove the blotches and pregnancy zits. You want the truth? You can’t stand the truth. Jennifer Love Hewitt is my new fantasy babe. The wife watches her show on CBS so I get to see her weekly. Waif-like, pixish. Jessica Alba is now number 2. Blonde is not her look. Blade on Spike. Taped it. Lost the last 15 minutes because ultimate fighting ran over. It’s a six or seven of ten. Maybe higher if I had seen the ending. Sound quality was poor. Bad guy was bland. Randy Quaid … Read entire article »

Israel and the Future

The Israelis are, yet again, forced to fight the proxies of their enemies, in the on-going effort to exist. The fight against the Palestinians is not really against the Palestinians. They are the creation of the enemies of the state of Israel who have been trying for six decades to destroy that state. The Palestinians were driven into camps, not by the Israelis, but by their fellow Arabs. They were then supported, on the margin of society and at the minimum economy possible, by Old Europe and its creature, the United Nations. They were allowed to breed and seethe, but little else. No one attempted to create economic prospects for them. No one attempted to educate them. No one tried to include them in an existing social structure. This creature of anti-Semitism … Read entire article »
